About us
"Hope for the Future" is a non-governmental, non-profit-making
organization
and was founded in early 2004 in Mitrovica. This NGO brings together
people
from various ethnic and professional backgrounds from Kosov@ and abroad.
The
organization is not only supported by Albanians, Serbs, Turks, Bosniaks,
Romas and Ashkalis from Kosov@ but also by volunteers from a variety
of
countries. "Hope for the Future" aims at encouraging the ethnic
communities
and young people in particular in their efforts to work together beyond
ethnic boundaries, for the benefit of peace, mutual understanding, tolerance
and stability in Kosov@ and the entire Balkans. The violent unrest in
March
2004 has once again made perfectly clear that much more has to be done
so
that the various ethnic groups can live together peacefully, and that
peace
cannot be achieved through military presence alone.
Pax perpetuo aedificanda - that's the motto of our NGO, together with
the
principle: We hope as long as we live.
