Activities

The main activities of our NGO are:

The establishment of a multi-ethnic radio and TV-station in Mitrovica to be called "Radio TV Multikulti", with staff from all ethnic groups of Kosov@ (modeled on the various multi-cultural radio stations and programs in Germany).

The opening of a cultural center for young people.

The establishment of an "Open House" run by social workers, where various seminars and courses are to take place.

The organization of Round Tables and other activities with residents of the north as well as the south of Mitrovica.

The organization of seminars with young people of different ethnic groups where the history of Kosov@ is discussed from different perspectives. The seminars will also address the ethnic stereotypes and prejudices of the various ethnic groups.

Computer and language-classes not only for foreign languages such as English and German but also for the local languages Albanian, Serbian, Bosniak, Turkish and Romany as a prerequisite for better inter-ethnic communication.

Small and medium sized enterprises are to be encouraged to employ staff from other ethnic groups than the one of the owner (e.g. a Serb is employed by an Albanian run company).

A special database is created containing the details of persons who are prepared to work in a company whose owner belongs to a different ethnic group.

Psycho-social counseling will be offered for people who have had traumatic experience with members of other ethnic groups, for example, when they were expelled from their homes etc.

The organization of cultural events for young people, e.g. outings, discussions about books and other publications, the opportunity to speak freely about the past and the future, their aspirations and plans etc.
